WORK IN PROGRESS

This section features a collection of digital fashion pieces currently in development, showcasing works in progress and evolving design explorations.

RETROFUTURISM

GARMENT CREATION

This work is my first experiment with AI as a collaborator in digital fashion, exploring retrofuturism through the lens of its most optimistic era. The 1950s and 60s imagined the future as bold, graphic, and unapologetically new, an attitude I wanted to echo through form, material, and styling. Starting from d_archive's Poster Dress pattern, I reduced the silhouette to its essentials, shortening the hem and introducing an oversized belt with a metal loop as a sculptural accent. A custom burnt orange leather developed in CLO3D anchors the look, while knee-high go-go boots and silver hoop earrings nod to the era’s visual language, where fashion functioned as both uniform and provocation.

AVATAR TEXTURING

The Yuna avatar was imported from CLO3D into Substance Painter for surface development. An alien texture was layered onto the skin to introduce tonal variation, followed by subtle scarring patches to add depth and break uniformity. The eyes were assigned a pure black base color, with white eyelashes applied to create high-contrast definition.

AI & VIZCOM

I then rendered the new garment and avatar in CLO3D and uploaded it into Vizcom. Using the reference images below (and after much trial and error), I was able to create my first conceptual piece of how I would like to model an editorial scene for dress I've created. This is still a working image, and I am contemplating using it as more of a reference point rather than a final render.

MUGLER1994

GARMENT CREATION

This work-in-progress piece is inspired by Thierry Mugler’s 1994 campaign, featuring this black mesh bodysuit corset with sequin detailing. I’m drawn to recreating iconic and vintage designs because the process deepens both my patternmaking skills and my understanding of fashion history. Mugler remains one of my favorite designers for his avant-garde, highly structured, almost costume-like forms. This pattern is currently being developed digitally in CLO3D.
